The Hermitage Hotel
Music City is a lot more harmonious thanks to The Hermitage Hotel. Nashville's grande dame — set next to the State Capitol on Sixth Avenue North — hosted everyone from Hank Williams to Patsy Cline in its banquet rooms; even the Country Music Association was formed here. The only hotel in Tennessee to hold the distinction of National Historic Landmark, this beaux arts beauty has been updated for the 21st century with 122 refreshingly refined accommodations, nearly doubling the space of the original rooms. Today, Michelin-starred Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten helms two celebrated dining destinations within the hotel: the elegant Drusie & Darr, named after the children of a beloved former general manager who grew up in the hotel, and The Pink Hermit, a casually chic all-day café that moves from morning coffee and pastries to evening wine bar.
